Amendments to the BULSTAT Register Act published in the State Gazette No. 8/29.01.2016, which will become effective on 1st of May 2016

The main changes are as follows:

  • The file of each person/entity subject to registration in the BULSTAT Register will be in an electronic form. Applicants will be able to submit all documents in an electronic form using qualified electronic signature.
  • All branches and divisions of the entities, which are not merchants, branches of foreign companies, as well as the divisions, registered with the Commercial Register, shall be registered with BULSTAT Register. Up to the present moment, only the branches of foreign companies were obliged to register with the BULSTAT Register.
  • When BULSTAT number is available, the court, state and local authorities, persons exercising public functions, organizations providing public services, including banks have not the right to require proof of the circumstances registered with the BULSTAT Register.
  • District courts will be obliged to provide the registration offices with a free electronic copy of the respective court decision concerning the registration, change of circumstances and deletion of entities, which are not merchants. These court decisions shall be provided by the court to the registrations offices within 1 working day.
